President's Message

One of the main goals of IAAP is education. In our chapter survey we found that education/training was an important reason why members joined. It was interesting to find that these were even stronger reasons that members renew. Most members joined for networking but have found that they value the educational opportunities even more. Our chapter has great opportunities for learning in the next few months.

This month’s topic is Excel. The Benton County chapter is going to invite us to their March meeting which is Access training. Our APW seminar in April will focus on project management and fighting procrastination.

These events are great opportunities to introduce others to the benefits of IAAP. Be sure to bring a friend to the February meeting. If anyone has suggestions for other programs they would like to see we are always open to topic ideas!

Shelly Stewman
President - IAAP Razorback Chapter

Chapter Meeting

Join the Journey and Buckle Up for IMPACT by attending the February 28, 2008, Razorback Chapter Meeting and be a
FORWARD MOVING Administrative Professional.

IMPACT is a networking and informational meeting for office and administrative professionals. Members of the Razorback Chapter and their guests are invited to attend. Chapter members are encouraged to bring guests – there will be a contest for the member bringing the most guests and for the member who “signs up” the most guests as new members within a month from the meeting date.

The program will be “Excel at Excel” presented by Susan Bristow. Susan is an Instructor in the Information Systems Department at the Sam M. Walton College of Business. She received two Bachelor
of Science in Business Administration degrees as well as her Masters in Business Administration from the University of
Arkansas and joined the faculty at the University of Arkansas in the fall of 2002. She has taught for many development programs within the University of Arkansas and the community.

We will meet at 5:30 p.m. February 28, 2008 at the Courtyard Marriott located at 600 East Van Asche Drive, Fayetteville, AR
(across the street from the Olive Garden) Phone: 571-4900.

If you have a laptop and would like to bring it please do so. It is not required, we will have a projector set-up for viewing the presentation. A meal will be provided by the University of Arkansas Provost’s Office.
R.S.V.P. for yourself and or your guests by February 21st to Sandy Hancock
(shancock@uark.edu or 575-6021)

Be watching for your official invitation and start thinking of administrative professionals with whom you are associated to invite to this special meeting.
